Seattle loses NBA team to Oklahoma City
After the Grizzlies of Vancouver, after the Charlotte Hornets, the Seattle Supersonics were forced to move this summer. Due to bad results they have lost 17 million dollars last season. David Stern, the commissioner of the league, planned "30 millions dollars loss" if the Rainy City team stays one more season.
Obviously , economic reasons are predominant especially in the NBA.
A vote was organized by David Stern. Twenty-eight team owners over thirty voted in favor of the move. Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks and Paul Allen, Portland Blazer's one voted against.
This team, finalist in 1996 against Jordan and the Bulls , accrues too much losses. But the past can't be erased; Shawn Kemp, Gary Payton, Detlef Schrempf, Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis put their buckets on the Key Arena in the Emerald City.
The 90's have known the best Sonics team ever. The dunks of Reignman, the assists of The Glove, the 3 pointers of "Jesus" were part of Seattle evenings. Their supremacy were usually stopped by the Chicago Bulls.
When New Orleans deplored Katrina's hurricane, Oklahoma City welcomed the Hornets because their arena was destroyed. That was the proof that OKC could have a NBA team. Clay Bennett, late owner of the Seattle Supersonics became Oklahoma City Thunder's. This native of OKC, wanted a NBA team in his town. With the power of the money he has what he desired. It will boost local economy in this time of Financial crisis.

Rapper Jay-z wants to have his team also. The next team to move should be the New Jersey Nets. Brooklyn will be the next place for the team. Here is the new anthem of the NBA, " NBA: Cash Rules Everything Around Me..."
