A football dream ...

The Golden Ball is a great award for a football player. It's founded by a French newspaper, France football more precisely by Gabriel HARNOT, in 1956. The idea was launched to honour the best European footballer of the year. As one goes along year, it's became a dream for each player.

When we recount the chronology, we see that Stanleay MATTHEWS (the older to obtain it) was the first one to get in, in 1956. It was an English man who played in Blackpool. Today, leo MESSI, a young Argentine footballer of barcelona FC is coming to be crowned this year.

During this half-century, 53 footballer receive it. We see brezilian as EUSEBIO, KAKA, RONALDO (the younger to gain it), English as OWEN, George BEST and many French as Zinedine ZIDANE, PLATINI, PAPIN, ... .

Until today, that's difficult for a foreign player to be distinguished because only European could be. Since 2007 the prize was spread on every world, the rule has changed.

The elections are easy. Indeed, each European country or not which have participated in a World Cup is represented by a journalist who vote for five players. The first one gets 5 points,the second 4 points, ... and then the last one 1 point. At the beginning all players are nominated, then a first vote keep 30 of them, then 10 and to finish they note for the best. We can think that is unfair because many african nations are not represented whereas they have many good footballers.

We can speak about countries and football clubs most present. One, Italian team (milan AC, juventus) are known 8 Golden Ball and nethelands team, 7. Yohan Cruff, Michel Platini and

Marco Van Basten are gain 3 one and that the record. When we compare the position of the

different winners, many of them are rusher. Only one goal was consecrated.

I think that all players want to win this award because it represents The Nobel Prize in football. You're recognized as a great footballer and you leave a track forever. They don't want to be forget, that everyone speak about them as the football KING of everytime.
