Quantum of Solace : a new Bond?
The 22nd James Bond film, Quantum of Solace, carries on with Daniel Craig in the main part. As Casino Royale, this movie breaks the British spy's codes.
There are car chases, plane wrecks, motor boat collisions. If it's got an engine, and runs on fuel, and can crash into another similarly powered vehicle, with Bond at the wheel, well, it goes in the movie. The stunts – done by Daniel Craig himself - are amazing. All along the movie, the action does not stop. The camera bounces everywhere in the world with a James Bond glob-trotting. From Italy to Haiti to Austria to Italy again to Bolivia to Russia with stopovers in London and other interzones.
But what about the gadgets? There is none. The only gadget is the phone wich makes incredible pictures... What about the dialogue? There is none. They are just links between all the stunts. What about the British humour? Gone. Even the famous « The name is Bond, James Bond » disappeared.
But most of all the bond girl, Olga Kurylenko, is gorgeous. But you can not see her as often as the fomer ones and he just kisses her once and nothing more... Is 007 loosing his old habbits?
The result is still good but will the old fans bear thoses changes? James is the shaddow of himself.
