Nelcy Josien is a 20 years old french student who decided to spend six months in Australia in the middle of her studies. It was an impulsive decision, she left Toulouse and land in Canberra in total improvisation. Now it makes 2 months since she arrived in the other side of the world.

Jean-baptiste Bouché : Hi Nelcy! Are you fine?

Nelcy Josien : Hi you... I'm fine! How are you doing?

J.B. : Very well thank you. The last time we talked you were in New Zealand. Where are you now?
N : I went back in Australia a few days ago. I`m in an Apple store in Sydney, on the Gold Coast. I'm writing on a QWERTY keyboard and it is a mess!

J.B. : How is the weather? It is summer time there, isn't it?
N. : It`s a sunny day and it`s the begining of summer. Actually summer starts on the 1st of december here. I guess it is not the same in France?

J.B. : Yes it is not! Some days it is raining cats and dogs, some days clouds seem falling on our heads. It is the begining of winter here. Let's start the questions, are you ready?

N. : Yeah, I'm ready for my first interview!

J.B. : Ok, so : for many young people like us, make a trip around the world is an unreachable dream, and you did it. How do you feel about this?

N. : Traveling around the world is such a great experience. Everybody has to do that at least once in their life. I feel free but homeless and poor!
When you travel around you always make plans but after you meet people so you change your plans and stuff, you know.
So no i didn`t plan my travel like that but it`s an hundred times better!

J.B. : I can imagine! So, you chose to take the way of improvisation and couch surfing instead of plan everything. Was it only a money issue or had you others reasons?
N. : Couch surfing is a good way to do some un-touristic stuf. You have free accomodation sure but it`s more than that. You meet really oz mates. They help you to visit or in my case at the momment help me to find a job. It`s a good way to have contacts all around the world.

J.B. : Amen! For our readers, couch surfing has a website : couchsurfing.com, to meet people all over the world. Does your trip go as well as you want it to?
N. : Yeah, I'm enjoying this so much that I'm actually thinking to continue by South America and Cuba instead of taking a plane back to France.

J.B. : Oh my God, jealousy will kill me... Have you unplaned difficulties?
N. : You know, when you don't plan anything you can't have unplaned things! #laught#

Colonial architecture and comtemporary art make modern Australia.

J.B. : Yes, I guess! Tell me more, what is the most frightening thing since you go? And the one that impress you much?
N. : Well, what impressed me much is the smile on the face of people when I say I'm french. We are really popular around the world! And, what is frightening me : I am alone in Sydney today and I don't know where to sleep! #laught#

J.B. : You are a very social young lady, I'm sure you will find out a solution! To conclude, any advice to give to all young people who will go for an adventure trip next years?
N. : For the advise... Just do it. Enjoy your life there and have no regrets.

J.B. : Allelujah we got our Prophet! Well, thank you a lot and good luck for tonight!

N. : You welcome, and thank you for luck.

Jean Baptist
