A huge singer drew his last bending with honors

Who does not know «Les vertiges de l'amour», «SOS Amor», «Hey Joe», «Gaby» and many other songs that have accompanied us for so many years? Alain Bashung one of the greatest French actor, singer, known as the «gentleman rocker» and composer left us on the 14 March due to a lung cancer at the age of 61. He was a great fighter as though he was ill, few days before his death he has participed to the «Victoire De La Musique » and it was the last time that people have heard him singing live on a stage. He even had the time to get his 3 last awards for the year 2009: the best male performer of the year, Best album and the Best Musical of the Year. Appearing extremely weak, he had thanked the audience and said that he would never forget this night. His fans also would never forget his last time which is burnt forever in their memory.

Towards the stars.

He was born in 1947 in Paris, during his childhood, he was very lonely and took refuge in music.It's at this time that he discovered numerous artists like Brel, Gainsbourg... But he is fascinated by the American rock and roll and artists like Elvis Presley. He founded his first group in 1962 prime strongly inspired by bob dylan, the Dunces. Then encouraged by his producer Bashung plays the idol of the yéyés and sing «belles, belles, belles» a Claude François's song.

In 1973, he met Dick Rivers that it will bind friendship. But it's in 1980 when he sings «Gaby» that the success will come. In 1982, he colaborated with one of the largest, Serge Gainsbourg. Consecration comes in 1992 with the song «Osez Josephine», the album has sold over 350,000 copies. Following that will be success, and he composed especially tracks like "La nuit je mens" or "résident de la république" which will mark the French music.

As it was the death of a great man, everyone wants to pay the last tribute with a few words.«This is a prince who has left us a great poet, a singer engaged. Alain Bashung was generous with his audience, showing delicate, almost shy, protected by his sunglasses, his hat and his harmonica. He had dominated the recent «Victoire de la Musique» from the head to the heart, and without knowing the French, that evening, told him goodbye» said the French President Nicolas Sarkozy who made a true portrait of the rock star. There is also one of his old friend Jean-Louis Aubert who wanted to salute a last time his friend by declaring «I am very sad. We knew each other long ago. We have not stopped meeting , we have sung together a version of «Dure Limite on the day of the fall of the Berlin Wall. For me it was a voodoo on stage, a sort of Indian shaman in Jim Morrison.» Many singers of the new generation like Bénabar, Raphael and many others have been touched by his death as he was their source of inspirations to sing.He will remain in the heart of everyone. For the fans who want to pay a last tribute to their idol, his funeral is on friday 24 March in Paris. May God bless the soul of this Rock star as his music will always make people remember him.
