Durban II, a conference about racism, an announced defeat
To leave or not to leave ? Durban II conference about racism went into a parody. Seeming agreements. Simulated indignations. Guests learnt the script. Durban II : announced defeat.
“They sent migrants from Europe, the United States and other parts of the world in order to establish a totally racist government in the occupied Palestine. In fact, in compensation for the dire consequences of racism in Europe, they helped bring to power the most cruel and repressive racist regime in Palestine.” Of course, Ahmadinejad's speek is unacceptable. Unacceptable but sheduled. Everybody knows. Everybody hopes the speeking. Ahmadinejad did it. Yes, he can. European representants leave the conference. No need to talk about.
However, this « fact » hides a more important problem. Today, we are pro-Israël or cons-Israël but we don't discuss. Shoah traumatism has left such a track. Is it relevant to trap international relationship in the repentance ? Politics need to build the future. It lives in the past. Of course, the Iranian leader makes a succession of errors assimilating Israël as racism state. But is he wrong when he talks about last Gaza war ? Gaza war ? We are in favour or we are against. We don't discuss. However, there will be things to talk about. Must we forgive everything because of genocid ? It's harmful that a country use of its history to influence the international relationships. Without sidind with Ahmadinejad, can't we ask questions about Israël ?
European representants were right when they protested against Ahmadinejd speeking. They are right again when they describe it like a racist talk. But, they are wrong when they side Israël, when they ask forgiveness for the past. Upwards of 1 000 Palestinian people dead in Gaza war. Nobody cares : 6 billion Jewish died during the Second World War. Once again, the repentance can't forgive everything.
We must talk about it. We must discuss. We must condamn. When it is necessary. Write it again : International politics need to build the future without basing on the past... Durban II : a conference on racism, a defeat, a way not to lose the edge. Without tackling delicate topics. Fifteen years ago, more than one billion people died in Rwanda. Under the eyes of the European, the French in particular. Debate nonexistent. No repentance.
