On the september 27th, Roman Polanski has been arrested by the Swiss police. Thirty years ago he had a sexual relation with a thirteen years old girl. He has been immediatly supported by politics personalities and showbizz people in France and Europe, whereas, the USA wants him jailed. He claims the statute of limitation. Roman's life has always been like one Polanski movie.
A Roman's life.
Born in Poland few years before the world war II, his father is Jewish, and his mother is quickly deported in Auschwitz with his sister. Orphanage, he ran away and lived for a while under-earth. His cinematic carreer began in the late sixties with « Repulsion » or « le bal des vampires », where he met his futur wife, Sharon Tate. In 1968, he directed « Rosemary's baby », one of the most beautiful fantastic thriller of all the time. But this masterpiece is tarnished in 1969, when his wife mrs Tate is kidnapped, tortured and killed with friends in his house ( by Charles Manson cultists). She was pregnant. This crime was so violent that he was quickly related to this movie.
He lived a real breakdown and worked a lot to forget this drama. He continued to work with a lot of celebrities like Jack Nicholson or Isabelle Adjani. In 1977, his life met fiction again, when a thirteen years old model , Samantha Geimer, accused, and incriminate the famous director of rape and sexual abuse. Since this day, he hide himself from the United States. He lives in Europe where he has found support in the high society. In 2002, he won the Palme d'or with « The Pianist », and, one year later, the USA awarded his work for the same movie. He get the best director Oscar.
Once again he doesn't give up. In 2010, a new movie « The ghost » will he succeed again?
