Yesterday night was big time night in France with the antepenultimate journey of the national football championship of second division. While all the newspaper speak about the Olympique of Marseille in the first national championship, we prefer to promove the outrated treasure of our country. Dijon , Metz, Chateauroux, or eaven Arles-Avignon, the show was in the place during last night's battle.
In fact, several teams were engaged in a crucial win or go home situation. And when you live in lets say Vannes, it is kind of hard to go back home...
The happy winners were Metz (4th) which still got a chance to access to the superior level thanks to the win of Chateauroux (16th) at home against Arles-Avignon (3rd) three to nothing (3-0) with a great Andre Titi Buengo!!!
The north-west of France can be happy too, because Caen the leader and Brest the first follower, validated their tickets for the premiership.
On the « other end », Istres also took the win lats night by defeating Tours 2 goals to 1. Infortunately for the corsican, Bastia will probably be relegated in « National » also know as the third division championship. Same story for Strasbourg, which lost to Guingamp with a magnificient goal by Christian Bassila, former star of Nuremberg FC in the German championship.

Who cares about Marseille, Bordeaux or Lyon, the real stuff happens at a lower level but with a much better technique and value. We have the chance to follow this season a really interesting championship, why would we let that chance go away.
Their are only 2 journeys left until the end of the season and absolutely nobody is safe in the wild jungle of 2nd division football. No doubt that the best is yet to come....
