Legislative elections: Will the Labour party win again?
Gordon Brown, head of British Government.
In the United Kingdom, the Prime Minister, after meeting Queen Elizabeth, confirmed the date of the next legislative election for the 6th of May. Then he announced the dissolution of the Labour party. For the Conservative party, David Cameron is given the favorite for the poll in May. Both will probably be the two majors candidates. We already speak about an e-election, because for the first time the parties lead their campaigns on the web.
But today in the news, it appears that Gordon Brown is on a delicate position, in fact the Tories (Conservators), accused him of treating harshly his collaborators. Whereas he tries to restore his image, he finds himself in a virulent polemic. The case appeared for the first time in The Observer. It reveals that the head of government is liable to have sudden mood swings. An attempt to destabilize Gordon Brown? Maybe. Moreover, the Prime Minister is accused of “declaring war” on British business, it can be read on the Times today. It seems that Gordon brown refuses the conservative propositions about economy, in particular the increasing on TVA, the taxes on jobs, tax on phones lines in order to broadband infrastructure. Gordon Brown thinks that they can't get rid of the crisis by imposing taxes. According to George Osborne, the shadow chancellor, "This is a highly significant moment which proves that Gordon Brown is on the wrong side of British business and working people who know that Labour’s jobs tax will put the recovery at risk”. Both parties criticize each other, but only one will be victorious, verdict on the 6th of May.
