A woman before all.
Motivated, determined and young these words are made to describe Maryline Gonzalez the commercial manager of Travaux Pratique Sanitaire(TPS). For our special Christmas edition, for our blog she kindly accepted to answer to my questions.
Maryline Gonzalez
Q: So Maryline tell us about you?
Well, I am the commercial manager of the TPS. I am 35 (laugh) and I have I a daugther of 7 years old her name is Marie and I am a single mother. I have a well framed personality and knows exactly what I want. I am determined to do anything to achieve my aims if I have one. When I stick to a point I will never lose courage untill I get what I want to achieve!
Q: Have you always dreamed to be a business women?
Frankly speaking no, during my childhood I always dreamed about nature and I was attracted by animals. I just loved nature even now I love any activities or things related to animals. My dream was to do a pedagogic farm for animals with my elder sister Corinne. This farm would have been a place where there would be animals and children could come, see and play with those animals.
Q: So how you became a commercial manager?
I had a difficult scolarship, I must say that I was a bad student. I did not want to learn or go to school. So at the age of 15, when i had to choose what to do for my further studies I did not had a great choice. So my mother placed me in a private school where I started learning accounting but I was not happy at all with that choice. I starting bunking school with friends and we were playing cards(laugh), I know it is not a good example!! But nevertheless one day, I realised that I should take my studies seriousely so that I can assure my future. I was afraid of the future. For me there is a big difference between public and private schools. When I was in public school teachers did not pay enough attention to me but when I started going to a private the teachers there were kind to me and I wanted to learn in order to please them.
When works it is something that she does seriousely.
Q: Did it happen to you, to wake up one day and say: “ Oh my God, I really want to change my life”?
Yes of course, if I had a choice I would leave that hectic life that i lead where there is too much pressure on only one person, for a more relax way of leaving but I know that I would never do that because I am also happy of what I have achieved so far in life.
Q: Do you find time for yourself and your daugther or your job keep you busy?
Well, I do work a lot but during weekends I do have time for myself and my daugther but nevertherless its little time most of the time I am busy at work. I would love to have more time with my daugther. I would be happy if I would have been able to go and fetch her at school everyday or go each wednesday at the Poney Club to watch her do horse riding but unfortunately I cannot.
Q: Due to the economic problems that we are facing now does it causes problems to your enterprise?
Yes, our economy is facing a big crisis and as the construction sector is the most affected one we are having problems as we work in this sector. We are having a decrease of 50% in our work activities and we are having difficulties to fullfill some delays and if this continues we will be forced to put some workres on technical unemployement.
Q: As a business women how do you perceive the future?
You know I perceive the future with great hope as I love this company. For me, this enterprise has a spirit as in an small company like the TPS we know each other and share a great working relationship. This enterprise exists due to the people who work there for its well being. So I hope that this enterprise will progress.
