The end is near! Next week, our chimney will be transformed into a Highway for father Christmas! But what about the Reindeers ? Actually, we haven't found a breed of Reindeer who knows how to fly, but they are around 300,000 animals undiscovered.

So, keep hope! The other problem is time. With the rotation of the earth and the spindle per hour, Christmas lasts for 31hours! They are around 2.000.000.000 children in the world , with the religions, we can lower this number to 375.000.000. With 3.5 children per home(we suppose that there is 1 good child per home), we've got 91.500.000 homes for father Christmas. He has 522,5 homes per second to visit and so :1 /1000 seconds to crawl down oh his sleigh, crawl down in the chimney, make the gifts under the Christmas tree, eat the snacks, and go back to his sleigh.

The average distance between each home is 1200m, so dady Christmas, must travel to 1.046 km/seconds (by counting the WC stops). Good Reindeer!

If we give one present per child ( standard present : a box of 1kg of Legos). The sleigh will transport 321.300 tons. But we must take into account Father Christmas, all the country is O.K about his outline , around 150Kg. A standard Reindeer can pull 150KG of gifts, so we must have 214.200 Reindeer. All his charming tiny creatures add their weight, and the charge of the sleigh passes to 353.400 tons!

353.000 tons travelling in 1.046 kilometres per second create an enormous resistance in the air warming reindeers in the same way as the shuttle going into the ground atmosphere. Head Reindeers will absorb 14,3 billion joules of energy. Per second. By reindeer.

In summary, they will explode in flames almost immediately, exposing reindeers' neighbours to severe collateral damages and creating deafening sound bangs during their passage over the sleepy and serene towns. The whole harness of reindeers will be vaporized, within 4,26 thousandth of seconds.

So, if 214.200 will be destroy in 4,26 thousandth of seconds, how many Reindeers are needed to make the full Christmas night ? A fast calculation gives us a number of 5.886.900.000.000 Reindeers!

Other problem : the emissions of dangerous gazes. This important number of animals will reject 374.477.482.800 Kg of methany next Christmas!

So, save our planet, let us give a bike to the Father Christmas!
