Two different points of view about the earthquake in Haiti

Who has not heard about this catastrophy? On every channel, in worlwide newspapers, journalists explained these few days of horror in every possible way. As a matter of fact, I am not sure that all has been said. Millions of dead, injuries, a hole country destroyed.

Hopefully, miracles do happen and lives are still saved as I am writting. But the eventual issues concerning health and future are, for the moment, not fully considered. Maybe it is thought that death, misery and a hole country in crisis are what the people want to hear. I want to know wether soldiers and humanitarian help will stay and help rebuilt Haiti when the situation gets better or wether they will leave thousands of people, that did not have much before, with nothing. No one really knows and it is a shame.

I hold the opinion that the medias talk a lot, too much maybe, about Haiti. Obviously, what's happening over there upsets the entire world and deserves help and attention. However, this subject made the cover during at least two weeks. The television agencies acted similarly. Why has this earthquake created such a passion? It seems to me that the medias, and throught the medias, the governments, wanted to take advantage of the situation in order to show who is the most influent. I mean that it is really a question of strength matter.

For instance, the United States of America sent thousands soldiers, officially to contain violence and riots, but we all know that is the occasion to prove who is still the boss in this earth. And the medias, by publishing or broadcasting everyday the same pictures and the same videos, give their support to this huge demonstration of power. And it is clearly not the time to do that.
